Ioannis-Dimosthenis Adamakis is a Biologist with expertise in plant stress responses. He graduated in 2005 from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) (School of Biology, AUTH), and obtained in 2013 his PhD also from AUTH. During his PhD studies he has been awarded for three years (2010-2013) with the scholarship program “Heraclitus II”, received the German Foundation scholarship DAAD (DEUTSCHER AKADEMISCHER AUSTAUSCHDIENST) in which he worked for 4 months (September-December 2009) in the Department of Plant Biology, Braunschweig University of Technology. Furthermore he has been awarded with the title “Fellow of Excellence” 2011 AUTH Research Committee on doctoral students (Honorable mention). Moreover after the completion of the PhD studies in 2013 was awarded as a Post-doc fellow in the context of strengthening research activity at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki by the Research Committee of the institution, special account Funds research. Since 2018 he has been employed in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, department of Biology as an Assistant Professor, working on the field of plant biology, with emphasis on how plants respond to biotic and abiotic stresses. He is the author of 72 peer-reviewed articles in SCI (h-index=23).
